about

This is my live performance of a song I wrote in 2012 inspired by the tragic death of my cousin Julien. It's original version is on my self entitled debut solo album "Helen Gillet" 2012 recorded in Kansas City, MO with Chad Meise.

lyrics

You were so small and young
Your hair Glistened in the sun
We laughed as we watched you play
As you hit the ball away

I should have been there to see the first snow
I would have held you in my arms and never let you go
But the wind choked the Cat spoke
And you lost your mind's eye
The curve swerves the girl curled in your arms
And you wanted to fly
But you, you flew too soon, my dear Julien

Julien
Je pense à toi
Tu serras toujours
Avec moi
